Coordination of the ELI program, including ELI curriculum development and extra-curricular activities. This position also includes the following: teaching ELI classes during regular academic semesters or summer sessions, recruiting ELI students, advising ELI students on academic administrative matters, promoting ELI program to relevant audiences, coordinating the administration of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), placement tests, new student orientation, and performing various administrative tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Administrative and teaching responsibilities for the development, growth, and maintenance of SHSU?s English Language Institute. ELI Coordinator reports to and receives general direction from the Director of International Programs. Position supervises student workers. NOTES: Additional Salary Information: Nagotiable

A Bachelor?s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or related field. At least two years of experience teaching English as a Second Language or English in an academic setting, preferably with supervisory experience. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
